Keep Your Employees Motivated

For a business to be successful no matter how small or large the employees must be motivated to work for the vision of the company and its success.  The last thing an employer will want is employees that show up for work because they must and count the hours to leaving for the day.  Yes, it is possible to have employees that love their job, are loyal, want to be there and care about the company's success.


How? Motivation.  Your employees must be motivated.  As an employer, having motivated employees will have a long-term success benefit to your company and bottom line.

3 ways you can keep your employees motivated are:


1.  Share your vision for the company - If you have a specific vision for where you would like your company to be in 12, 24, 36, 48 months and so on, share this vision with your employees.  This in turn can provide security to your employees and show them they are part of the bigger picture for the success of the company they work for.  This can be done in a group and individually with your employees depending on the size of the company. This shows your employees you care about securing their future with the company in your vision for the growth and success of the company.


2.  Focus on their strengths, not their weaknesses - Each employee has strengths in different areas of expertise.  By focusing on the employee's strengths and giving them job duties in this parameter, you will have motivated employees.  Have conversations with your employees when they are hired and during their time with the company and leave an open door with management to ask for assistance when a task comes about that is not their strength. In doing so, the employee will realize the company is there to help them succeed and this in turn will benefit the company because the company will have employees that are working in their area of expertise.


3.  Meet with your employees individually on a regular basis - If you set up check in meetings with your employees and ask how they are doing in their job, do they need any help, are they satisfied with their job and more.  This will in turn show your employee you care about their needs and their job is not only about the success of the company but their success as well.  This can benefit the company in many ways.  You can learn about needs of the employee to succeed at their job, if the employee is not challenged any longer or any issues that may need to be handled in the company.

When the employees of the company are motivated the company succeeds in multiple ways. Keeping your employees motivated and caring about their needs will all around increase the employee's morale and the company's success.
